Science is observation, observation of objects. When you look inside you it’s the same observation, you’ve only made a one hundred and eighty degrees turn and you’re looking inside of you. This is what we call meditation. No God is needed, no Bible is needed.

You do not need, as a prerequisite, to belong to a religion, to a creed. An atheist can meditate exactly like anyone else, because meditation is only a method to look within oneself.


On Meditation

Is it possible to meditate without any technique?

Meditation in itself does not require techniques, it is pure understanding, it is being awake, aware. But the techniques are necessary to remove the obstacles on the path of meditation. Therefore, the purpose of the techniques is to prepare the ground. You ask me: “Is it possible to meditate without any technique?” Not only is it possible, it is the only possibility.

There are various types of meditations, even dynamic ones, of varying duration, which involve very simple phases of movement of about a quarter of an hour, with a final phase of relaxation. The fact that during the meditation, which always takes place with eyes closed, the gaze turns inward determines an increase in our capacity for presence, as the attention is turned from the outside to the inside

The effect of this experience is well summarized by Jung‘s phrase, “Who looks outside dreams. Who looks inside awakens “: Those who look outside dream.
Those who look inside wake up.
Among the gifts of meditation we find a reduction of anxiety, greater ability to focus, fortification of memory and above all a rediscovered inner silence.
